BACKGROUND >>>
The
Fossil Dungeon is committed to representing uniquely contemplative
musical art. We perceive music as a gateway to the world of
awareness and delight in showcasing sounds that purvey the dichotomy
of both the sacred and the profane.
In
previous years, The Fossil Dungeon specialized in creating collectible
releases bearing distinctive and award-winning packaging and
design. Limited edition CDR titles were published on black-faced
discs, vinyl records were pressed on the highest quality heavy
weight wax for clarity and durability and CDs were packaged
in contemporary specialty formats with a flair for quality printing.
Many Fossil Dungeon releases remain cherished works of art for
fans across the world.
In
2007, The Fossil Dungeon exclusively crossed over into the digital
age becoming an Internet-based music label with emphasis on
giving fans a more intimate way to support the bands represented
by the label. Half of all revenues go directly from fans to
the artists by way of The Fossil Dungeon and often at better
consumer costs-per-song than traditional music e-tailers. The
Fossil Dungeon intends to uphold their tradition of representing
quality music and art through this new digital medium as fans
continue to be driven by convenience.
The
Fossil Dungeon was established in 2001 and is owned and operated
by Michael Riddick, and is supported
with the assistance of his twin brother, Mark
(both members of The
Soil Bleeds Black) and his wife, Elizabeth.
